If there are extensive sexual exploitation networks in Québec and elsewhere, it’s because there are a lot of clients who want to buy the sexual services of young people. Pimps know that there is significant money to be made from this type of exploitation. The money comes from clients who are ready to pay a high price for the sexual services of minors. Sexual exploitation follows the principle of supply and demand: young people wouldn’t be victims of sexual exploitation if no one wanted to pay for the sexual services of minors. This means that clients are part of the sexual exploitation problem. We shouldn’t trivialize the fact that they bear a share of the responsibility for this issue.
