This is often how young people are lured into sexual exploitation by recruiters. There is the promise of quick, easy money with not too much effort, because clients pay big bucks for a minor’s sexual services. In reality, the pimps keep most of the money made by the young people being sexually exploited. At first, the pimps give the young recruits a larger percentage of the revenues as an incentive to stay; as time goes by, however, that share steadily dwindles and may even disappear completely. People who manage to extricate themselves from sexual exploitation circumstances now say that it isn’t really an easy way to make money. It isn’t actually all that lucrative and it’s a harsh scene that leads to violence of all kinds, and a great deal of it.
