Sexual exploitation of minors can take many different forms. It involves trading a sexual act, with or without physical contact, for things like money, drugs, services, shelter, food, affection, etc. Sexual acts aren’t always exchanged for money; also, sexual exploitation isn’t always a person forcing another to perform sexual acts. For instance, sharing an intimate picture of ourselves with someone else in return for a favour (e.g. shelter, a lift) can be considered as sexual exploitation.
